Ronald, who turns ninety-three on July 2, , has led a rich life embracing classical music. Growing up in Brisbane, he made his concert debut aged thirteen with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra.
Ronald was encouraged to move to Melbourne to study with Lindsay Biggins.
